In the midst of the beautiful Austrian hills, there was the initial sound of chatter. The chatter turned to cheering, the cheering turned into passionate roars of emotion and along with it was the accompaniment of a full grid of turbo hybrid V6 engines.
It was the beginning of pre-season for Invictus Racing League and with two races in Austria and Azerbaijan on the calendar before the season officially opens in Melbourne, it gave the driver’s the perfect opportunity to see the pace of the competition whilst gathering some important test data.
The racing opened with a highly competitive race in the no-assists league. It debuted it’s newest tier one and tier two variant with newer drivers to the league entering the no-assists at tier two whilst the more established drivers will compete alongside them for the No-assist championship.
The performance league debuted it’s second league, with Tuesday nights now running the Performance League 1 and 2. The cars take to the track and offer some of the closest racing anywhere on PS4. Previous seasons have seen a different winner in 11 of 12 races which demonstrates the competitiveness that Invictus has to offer.
Wednesday evenings are going to be alive with furious action as the equal leagues begin this week. The F1, F2 and F3 pre-season races were full of unbelievable action, overtakes and moments that did nothing but build the anticipation for the upcoming season.
The countdown to the new season is over and the teams have set up in the paddock in Albert Park as the Australian Grand Prix officially opens new Invictus Racing League season. We are set to have our biggest and most successful season yet and we hope you join us for it!
