In memory – Charlie Whiting (1952-2019)

Today we wake up to the saddest of news from Melbourne, as Formula One race director and long serving member of the Formula One paddock has sadly passed away suddenly at the age of 66.

Whilst we play on the virtual representation of the sport that we all love dearly, Charlie Whiting was instrumental in the implementation of several safety measures, along with the sign off for some now much-loved Formula One calendar circuits that we race on.

The season is due to start tonight at 00.30am so to lose an instrumental member of the Formula One community so close is a tragic loss and bitter blow to all within the community whether online or off.

Invictus Racing League extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to Charlie’s friends and family, and positive thoughts to all in the Formula One community while we celebrate the life of the iconic Charlie Whiting.

Rest well Charlie, your work was immeasurable and will be remembered forever. We thank you.

Invictus Racing League.
